The Multi-Disciplined NDT Technician plays a vital role in our organization’s operational success. By employing various non-destructive testing methods, you will evaluate the physical properties of materials, identifying any potential issues such as corrosion or cracks. Your expertise will help maintain the performance and integrity of our equipment, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) using techniques such as magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and radiographic testing.
  • Inspect and evaluate the physical properties of materials and equipment without causing damage.
  • Identify and report any potential issues, including corrosion, cracks, or other imperfections, that may impact performance or integrity.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to develop and implement testing plans and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of testing results, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and accuracy.
  • Stay updated with the latest NDT technologies and advancements, attending training sessions and workshops as required.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Considerable experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) is required, with a strong understanding of various NDT techniques.
  • Relevant certification in NDT, such as PCNs in:
    • RT – Level 2 – Radiography Testing and Interpretation (ESSENTIAL)
    • MT – Level 2 – Magnetic Particle Testing
    • PT – Level 2 – Dye/ Liquid Penetrant Testing
  • A strong foundation in physics and materials science is preferred, with the ability to interpret test results and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial for this role.
  • Proficiency in using NDT equipment and software is necessary, along with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel and work in various locations as required by project needs.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain security clearance may be required.
