Hairdressing Teacher – Oxford College
Activate Learning is seeking an inspiring and passionate Hairdressing Teacher to join our staff at Oxford College in City of Oxford. The role is a permanent, part‑time position of 22.2 hours per week (0.60 FTE) and will include Tuesdays, with hours negotiable for the next academic year.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, purposeful lessons to Level 2 hairdressing students.
- Plan and deliver a curriculum that meets current industry demands and prepares students for successful careers.
- Collaborate closely with the teaching team to maintain high standards and improve learning outcomes.
- Support students in developing technical ability, workplace readiness, confidence and professionalism.
- Participate in the mandatory three‑day induction programme and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 Hairdressing qualification.
- Recent industry experience.
- Assessor’s Award (IQA and teaching qualifications desirable).
- Engaging teaching skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop learners across all levels.
- Flexible, adaptable, highly organised with excellent interpersonal skills.
