Thera North has an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker in Ulverston, Cumbria. Full‑time permanent with part‑time options. Competitive salary £13.00 per hour.

About the Support Worker Role

Thera North seeks enthusiastic support workers to help adults with a learning disability. You will create innovative ways to help individuals achieve personal goals, providing personal and emotional support, skill development, planning and managing their own home, supporting leisure, employment, interests and travel. The role may involve supporting people in their own homes or in the community. The work is varied, rewarding and occasionally challenging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support individuals in daily life activities.
  • Help develop new skills and confidence.
  • Provide personal and emotional support.
  • Assist with planning and managing home life.
  • Offer support with leisure, employment, travel and individual interests.
  • Work independently and with team in community settings.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • No previous experience or qualifications required – full training will be provided.
  • Full UK manual driving licence essential.
  • Comfortable with lone working and supporting individuals with mental health needs.
  • Compassionate, caring and confident.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self‑starter with high motivation.
  • Confident, articulate, professional communication.
  • Keenness to learn and solve problems creatively.
