Position: Lead Technician
Location: Slough Engineering Depot, Stanley Cottages, Slough SL2 5AQ
Contract: 40 hours per week – full time & permanent
Shifts: Can be discussed at interview
Pay Rate: £22.77 per hour, £47,361 per annum
Do you want to be part of our dedicated team of mechanical engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of buses across Slough? We are looking for NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified Engineers – preferably with HGV or PSV experience and strong leadership qualities. We also welcome applications from ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Key Responsibilities:
Tolead the mechanical engineeringOperation, dealingwithbus servicing, breakdown and inspections and diagnose faults, specifying the correct method of repair and length of time it may take to repair
To be flexible in respect of working hours to ensurecommitmentstooperationalrequirementsare fulfilled and will need to remain up to datewithany newengineeringor health and safetylegislation
To be fully up to date withindividualbushistory payingparticularattention to reoccurring defects prior to carrying out thebus inspection.
To befamiliarwithmodern repair techniques and the use ofelectronicandmechanicaldiagnosticequipment (i.e. Brake rolling road tester, smoke meter, headlight alignment tester, engine oil sampling anddiagnostic laptop equipment)
To befamiliarwithcomputerisedengineering systems and the input and extraction of relevant data
About You
Do you a posses a minimum Level 3 NVQ standard of equivalent (i.e. City & Guilds Level 1&2) in an engineering field?
Have you got the capability to multi-skill within an EngineeringEnvironment?
Do youhave a flexible approach to working hours?
A PCV licence isdesirable, ability to obtain PCV licence is essential, and we will help you gain this qualification.
Do you have experience of working with buses & coaches, HGV vehicles?
