Job Description:

Working with the Community, Participation & Volunteering Manager, you’ll support daily operations and the organisation of volunteering and participation across the Worcestershire portfolio that includes Croome, Hanbury Hall, Greyfriars House & Garden and The Firs – Elgar’s Birthplace.

This role is all about connecting with people; helping everyone feel welcome and supported across Worcestershire. Working with volunteers and local communities, you’ll be making a vital contribution to the Trust’s cause of caring for places so that people and nature can thrive,now and into the future, by supporting volunteers to get the most out of their experience.

Hours/ working Pattern: Part‑time, this role is 22.5 hours per week. The working pattern is flexible across 7 days and can be discussed further at interview.

You could be based at Croome or Hanbury Hall and may help at other sites across Worcestershire. Working alongside our community partners, you’ll help with day‑to‑day operations while welcoming new participants, helping ensure that they have a safe and enjoyable experience.

What it’s like to work here

Working within a varied and bustling atmosphere this role of Community, Participation & Volunteering Assistant, will support with operations and the organisation of volunteering. You’ll get to know and work alongside staff and volunteers from all departments and sites.

Together with a team of volunteers you will provide a fantastic welcome to new volunteers and participants to Worcestershire, whilst also responding to and supporting queries from the existing volunteer community.

What you’ll be doing

As our Community, Participation & Volunteering Assistant, you’ll be supporting the wider team by maintaining links with the local community. You’ll help to make this a flexible, positive and inclusive place for partners, community groups and volunteers to get involved. This may mean supporting established community‑led events.

You’ll support our work in developing new ways of working together and deepening relationships with existing and new audiences. You’ll also support our teams in offering a warm welcome and responding to enquiries.

You’ll support the Volunteering & Community Manager with the organisation of volunteers and help with practical tasks (full training and resources provided), and support with general administration tasks.
