HGV Technician – Day shift
40 Hours: 08:00-16:30 with 30 min unpaid lunch break.
Salary: Starting from £37,500 & OTE £45,000+.
Uncapped overtime paid at time and half.
Late shift allowance: OTE £52,800.
Your role:
As an HGV Technician, you will keep our customers’ vehicles on the road via quality, safe and compliant maintenance. You will deliver exceptional service in line with our highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform major and minor repairs to Mercedes‑Benz trucks.
- Perform regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services.
- Maintain inventory in the workshop and keep the area clean from oil spills and dust.
- Work with repair teams to diagnose and plan repairs for vehicles.
- Maintain records of repaired vehicles using Keyloop/Kerridge modules.
- Complete relevant documentation and paperwork, and process warranty claims or upscale as necessary.
- Carry out wheel alignment and tyre fitting.
- Complete customer documentation within agreed time scales.
Qualifications and Skills
- Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds / IMI qualification in HGV vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Experience in diagnostic and service repairs.
- Ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with DVSA standards.
- Current, full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle classes.

- Attention to detail – precision in diagnosing issues and conducting repairs.
- Time management – prioritise and complete tasks within timeframes.
