Your role
You will support our Road Safety Team Leader in implementing the Road Safety Policy of the City and following our commitment to Vision Zero. We want you to:
- Engage with local organisations to facilitate a joined-up, whole-system approach to road safety.
- Liaise with partners to plan and deliver specific road safety events.
- Deliver road safety instruction to schools and various groups in the community.
- Maintain accurate records and to write reports as required.
- Assist with the management and promotion of Bikeability delivery throughout educational establishments in the city.
- Assist in the preparation and staffing of exhibitions and displays, issuing publicity, materials etc.
- Assist with management of the School Crossings Patrol Service.
Your profile
Ideally you will be experienced in working with children in educational establishments and confident in delivering practical and classroom-based programmes. However, we are open to transferable skills and experience. You also need:
- Engagement, networking and facilitation skills.
- Experience of growing productive relationships with stakeholders and partners such as community groups.
- Proven experience of working collaboratively within a team.
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office.
- A desire to liaise with relevant organisations to seek out and implement best practice.
