Salary: £30,000-£40,000 per annum

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Estimation Specialist to support the successful delivery of industrial electrical projects by producing accurate, competitive, and commercially viable cost estimates. Working within process-driven environments such as manufacturing plants and utilities, you will play a key role in preparing tenders, evaluating project requirements, and contributing to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical installation projects, including:
    • Power distribution systems
    • Motor Control Centres (MCCs)
    • Control panels
    • Instrumentation
    • Cabling and containment systems
  • Produce material take-offs and labour estimates.
  • Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
  • Compile comprehensive tender submissions in accordance with client specifications and deadlines.
  • Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and commercial considerations.
  • Liaise with project engineers, designers, project managers, and clients to clarify technical requirements.
  • Maintain estimating records and support project handovers to the delivery team.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within industrial, manufacturing, process, or utilities sectors.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical installations and systems.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and P&IDs.
  • Knowledge of:
    • BS7671 Wiring Regulations
    • Industrial electrical standards
    • Hazardous area installations (ATEX)
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
