Newcastle College’s Aviation Academy is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and appropriately qualified individual to take on the role of Aircraft Maintenance Lecturer.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver learning designs and inclusive lessons across a range of programmes.
  • Create engaging learning materials tailored to diverse learner needs.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner progress.
  • Guide academic and personal development through tutorials and pastoral care.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and engagement.
  • Enhance curriculum and keep course content current and aligned with industry standards.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to enrich the learner experience.
  • Promote and uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.

Qualifications

  • A relevant subject qualification (degree or equivalent).
  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • Level 2 English and Maths (e.g. GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
  • Strong planning and delivery skills for diverse learners.
  • Knowledge of subject‑specific pedagogy and current teaching practices in further or higher education.
  • Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
  • Confidence using digital tools to support learning.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and ongoing professional development.
  • Strong background in aircraft maintenance with industrial or military experience, ideally in a Part‑145 or Part‑147 training/maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of the CAA Part‑66 Aircraft Maintenance Licensing framework is advantageous.
  • Ability to translate industry experience into engaging teaching.
