Role Overview
Registered Manager (Learning Disability | 2-Bed Children’s Home | Leicester LE2) sought to lead a 2-bed Ofsted-regulated children’s home specialising in supporting young people with learning disabilities. The role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, and the ability to create a safe, aspirational environment where children thrive and staff are well supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full operational management of the home, including staff supervision, placement planning, safeguarding, reporting, and quality assurance.
- Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, Children Act 1989, Health & Safety legislation, Data Protection requirements, and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
- Maintain a skilled, trained and confident staff team capable of meeting the individual needs of each young person.
- Lead the home with ambition and positivity, inspiring both children and staff.
- Produce monitoring reports, audits, and statistical data in line with organisational and regulatory expectations.
- Ensure all children receive personalised care planning tailored to their specific needs.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with multi-agency partners, families, and the wider team around the child, ensuring all transitions and offboarding processes are recorded and completed correctly.
- Oversee staff development and ensure consistent compliance with training programmes.
Requirements
- Level 5 Leadership & Management (minimum).
- Previous Ofsted registration experience.
- Strong background working with children with learning disabilities in looked‑after settings.
- Confident leader and effective team player.
- Competent with digital care systems and software‑based record keeping.
Package
- Salary: £50,000 – £55,000
- 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
