As a Volunteering Project Officer, you will lead the co‑ordination, planning, support and administration of our school‑based Aspirations programme, which provides employability support to enable children and young people from all backgrounds and abilities to reach their full potential. You will also co‑coordinate the York Cares partnership with The Place, a University of York project aimed at addressing the attainment gap in the Westfield area. The role involves close liaison with employers, schools, and community partners to develop opportunities and recruit employee‑volunteers, whilst managing vital administration regarding safeguarding and health & safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Co‑coordinate the school‑based Aspirations programme.

- Manage safeguarding and health & safety administration.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience working with schools (both primary and secondary) and employers, particularly in the private sector.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with businesses and community partners.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise your own workload and meet deadlines.
- Experience using social media channels and working effectively as part of a team.
- A flexible approach to working hours and locations, driven by a genuine enthusiasm for volunteering.
- Appointment subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
