Deputy Director of Quality and Safety

Deputy Director of Quality and Safety – Shefield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational senior leader to join our Trust as Deputy Director of Quality and Safety. The role reports to the Director of Nursing, Professions and Quality and provides strategic leadership across patient safety, learning from deaths, safeguarding, patient experience, complaints and PALS, clinical governance, CQC compliance, and regulatory assurance.

As a pivotal leadership role, you will provide expert advice to the Trust Board and Executive Team, ensuring the organisation delivers safe, effective and high‑quality services and maintains robust assurance regarding quality and safety.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing strategic leadership, professional expertise and operational oversight across the Trust’s quality governance and patient safety agenda.
• Ensuring effective governance systems are in place to provide assurance regarding patient safety, safeguarding, learning from deaths, patient experience, complaints management, clinical governance and regulatory compliance.
• Professionally responsible for: Head of Patient Safety; Head of Safeguarding; Head of Patient Experience; Complaints and PALS Manager; Learning from Deaths Lead; Head of Clinical Governance; Regulatory Compliance Lead.

Desired qualifications:

• Substantial NHS experience in quality and safety leadership.
• Strong strategic capability and exceptional influencing skills.
• A demonstrable track record of improving quality and safety outcomes.
