Trainee Gas Engineer
Locations: Godstone | Tonbridge | Tunbridge Wells | Maidstone | Reigate
Salary: £30.3k per annum (increase to £33.7k upon successful completion of probationary period)
Once qualified, earning potential increases with additionally paid standby & overtime.

How you’ll support us on our mission to keep people safe and warm
- Support engineers on site and learn from them daily during gas service and mains repair activities.
- Excavation, digging in the public & private highways, laying and repairing gas pipes in various outdoor environments safely and as part of a team.
- Be part of essential works to keep gas supply running to millions of people all year round, including standby and overtime opportunities for irregular hours.
- Maintain the SGN vans and tools before and after each job, ensuring your team has all equipment to work safely and efficiently.

- Will be required to be clean shaven: Must be clean shaven, pass a face‑fit test, and wear tight‑fitting dust masks and breathing apparatus for personal protection.
- Holds a valid UK driver’s licence: A full, valid UK driver’s licence is essential.
Must be based within a commutable distance from the desired locations due to operational response times.
