Job Description:

To provide administrative and digital support to the Digital Learning Team, ensuring that virtual learning environments, online learning content, and associated systems are maintained accurately and efficiently. The postholder will support the delivery of a high‑quality student learning experience by coordinating digital learning resources, maintaining module content, and providing administrative support for online and blended learning activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle) Administration
  • Upload, organise, and maintain content within Moodle module pages.
  • Update module information, timetables, and teaching schedules as required.
  • Create and publish announcements and communications for students.
  • Set up and manage discussion forums, activities, and learning resources.
  • Add, amend, and remove staff access permissions to module areas.
  • Support quality assurance processes to ensure module pages are accurate, consistent, and up to date.
  • Format, proofread, and quality‑check presentation slides and digital learning materials.
  • Ensure all content adheres to institutional branding, accessibility, and formatting standards.
  • Assist academic staff with the preparation and publication of learning resources.
  • Maintain Academic Course Content repositories and ensure materials are organised in accordance with module delivery schedules.
  • Support the creation and management of digital resources, including documents, multimedia content, and online learning activities.
  • Identify and escalations issues relating to content quality, accessibility, or compliance.
  • Learning Delivery Support
  • Create and manage Microsoft Teams meeting links for teaching sessions and events.
  • Support the scheduling and coordination of online and blended learning activities.
  • Liaise with academic staff to ensure learning materials are available to students in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the administration of online teaching sessions and virtual classrooms.
  • Support staff with the use of digital learning tools and systems where required.

Administrative Support

  • Monitor and update learning content trackers, schedules, and planning documents.
  • Maintain accurate records of module information, teaching resources, and digital learning activities.
  • Support the Digital Learning Team with routine administrative tasks and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the review and improvement of digital learning processes and workflows.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation, guidance materials, and standard operating procedures.

Quality, Accessibility and Compliance

  • Promote good practice in digital learning and online content management.
  • Support compliance with accessibility standards and inclusive learning principles.
  • Assist in ensuring digital content meets institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to quality assurance activities relating to online learning provision.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience using virtual learning environments such as Moodle.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting online or blended learning delivery.
  • Understanding of accessibility requirements for digital learning materials.
  • Experience working within higher education or training environments.
  • Knowledge of learning technologies and digital content management.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Educated to Level 3 or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in digital learning, admin, or EdTech.

Essential Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience using Virtual Learning Environments (e.g. Moodle).
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience maintaining digital content and online systems.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience supporting staff or stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisation and time management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
