Engineering Manager – Application Enablement
As an Engineering Manager for the Application Enablement team, you will lead experienced engineers building shared infrastructure underlying Perk’s web, iOS, and Android platforms. You will manage a team that spans multiple platforms, partner with staff engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver high‑impact foundational work across synthetic monitoring, SDLC acceleration, and contextual notifications.
Your role focuses on shaping technical direction, balancing immediate delivery with long‑term sustainability, and leading people and technology to ship faster and with greater confidence.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for delivery and personal development of your team(s).
- Act as servant leader, adapting leadership style to each engineer.
- Support performance and career growth through coaching and mentoring.
- Champion technical excellence, ensuring the team builds systems that meet organizational standards.
- Facilitate effective collaboration, resolving challenges in architecture and implementation.
- Develop a long‑term strategy and roadmap in partnership with Product Manager.
- Plan highly available, scalable features and coordinate recruitment and growth.
- Use metrics to deliver a stellar experience for customers.
- Understand how engineering impacts product and business needs.
- Provide stakeholder feedback within Builders and occasionally to wider business.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience managing software engineers.
- Managed 8–10 software engineers, overseeing larger teams and delegation.
- Technical background with hands‑on engineering experience.
- Strong people‑management skills creating positive work culture.
- Experience designing processes and systems for larger teams.
- Problem‑solving skills at both technical and organisational levels.
- Effective performance reviews that celebrate achievements and guide growth.
- Pragmatic focus on simplicity, efficiency, and performance.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments.
- Experience with, or enthusiasm for, AI‑augmented workflows and agentic development.
Work Environment
We practice an IRL‑first approach, meeting in‑person at least three days a week. The position requires you to be within commuting distance of our hubs. For certain roles we can assist with relocation from anywhere worldwide. English is the official language.
