Overview
The opportunity. We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager with prior experience in a hands-on game development role to join our Engine Product team. You will play a pivotal role in defining product requirements with technical input on customer need, value, measurability, as well as the ability to use and demonstrate product in a hands-on fashion. This role will be focused on the user experience of the Unity engine’s authoring features, helping to identify and implement usability improvements across Unity’s Editor, Hub and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Working across the Unity engine, hub and other user touchpoints to identify and implement improvements to workflows, usability and improve the user experience
- Cultivate strong relationships with Engineering counterparts to lead product areas hand-in-hand. You will drive feature delivery across disparate teams, clearing roadblocks and aligning priorities.
- Partner with stakeholders (e.g. Engineering, Quality, Design, Documentation, Program Management) to identify business goals, user needs, and technical requirements
- Prioritize product features and improvements based on a mix of data and user feedback from key external partners and our wider development community.
- Collaborate with other product team members to ensure solid cross-product integration and minimization of redundant feature code
- Facilitate customer feedback loops to refine and improve the product by iteratively adding customer value
- Hands-on tests and demos to understand requirements and proposed solutions, verify deliveries, and showcase delivered features to customers, users, and partners
Qualifications
- Experience working in Unity, ideally as a game developer
- Technical expertise and the ability to evaluate complex technology stacks that cross multiple systems and platforms (i.e. game engines, cloud services, and external APIs).
- Proven experience and knowledge of UX flows, with an ability to understand and improve on how users engage with software & UI.
- Strong product management experience, having led technical product delivery of high impact features or projects, along with strong data and research skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a proven track record of effectively simplifying and articulating complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, from engineers to executives.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Strong skills in roadmap planning, feature prioritization, and stakeholder management
- Cross-functional collaboration capabilities to bring teams together as we drive towards common goals and priorities

- Technical understanding of game engine architecture, feature development, and the developer experience
- Expertise in high performance programming with languages such as C# or C++
- Storytelling and visual presentation abilities to distill sophisticated topics into clear and concise communications
- Willingness to travel (up to 25% at peak times)
