This role, Global Human Resources Business Partner Lead, will be based in London and will act as a strategic partner to senior leadership across the global organization, shaping the people agenda and delivering high‑impact HR solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Global Business Function Head and their leadership team, providing expert guidance on all aspects of people strategy and talent management across multiple regions.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive HR solutions that align with both global business objectives and local requirements, ensuring seamless delivery through effective coordination with regional partners.
  • Lead change management initiatives in partnership with Centres of Expertise (CoEs) and key stakeholders to support organisational transformation and optimise structures for future growth.
  • Drive the design and execution of talent strategies, including succession planning, high‑potential identification, retention programmes and leadership development for diverse global teams.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition teams to anticipate future hiring needs, shape resourcing strategies and ensure recruitment processes reflect MUFG’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Oversee performance management cycles globally by guiding annual goal setting, mid‑year reviews, moderation of ratings, compensation calibration exercises and reward outcomes.
  • Partner with analytics functions to leverage data‑driven insights for human capital decisions, providing comprehensive metrics dashboards to inform leadership discussions on key people processes.
  • Serve as a point of contact for complex employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, structural changes, legal compliance issues and confidential counselling for senior staff.
  • Promote employee wellbeing by implementing action plans in collaboration with benefits teams; use employee listening methods to identify themes and develop solutions that enhance experience.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies globally while addressing regional regulatory requirements and advising on risk management practices related to people processes.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as an HR business partner or in a similar strategic HR role within large matrixed organisations operating at a global or regional scale.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing strategic HR initiatives that have delivered measurable improvements in business performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders worldwide.
  • Deep understanding of generalist HR practices, including talent management cycles, performance evaluation processes, compensation frameworks and succession planning methodologies.
  • Exceptional discretion when handling sensitive information and tactful communication skills suitable for engaging executive audiences.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in interpreting complex data sets; comfortable using Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment law frameworks across multiple jurisdictions and experience managing budgets/resources for large‑scale HR operations.
  • Experience leading teams of HR professionals, setting clear goals and nurturing personal and professional development through supportive feedback mechanisms.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity within complex organisational structures and identify alternative solutions when faced with competing priorities.
