Tesco Shift Lead
Availability and Hours
Availability Window: Friday 15:00-23:00 and Saturday 15:00-23:00.
Pay starts at £15.59 per hour, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. A minimum of 16 hours per week is guaranteed, although roles from 12 hours are also available.
Contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows with at least 3 weeks’ notice of shifts. If your availability is close to what we’re looking for, we still encourage you to apply.
Applicants must be 18 or older.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team to deliver a great experience for customers in-store.
- Work across all store areas and with all colleagues, being the go‑to person for day‑to‑day operational queries.
- Build positive, inclusive relationships that help colleagues perform at their best.
- Confidently lead the store in the Manager’s absence.
- Make balanced, flexible decisions and adapt well to change.
- Coaching colleagues, giving feedback and role‑modeling great service.
- Stay curious and seek opportunities to serve customers, communities, and the planet a little better each day.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast‑paced retail environment.
- A strong role‑model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer’s needs are met.
- Build positive, long‑lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.
- A clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
- A natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.
