Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, shape and define the Sustainability Attribute within Aston Martin
  • Lead the development and strategy for the Sustainability Attribute (Life Cycle Assessment, Recycling Desirability Index, Material Circularity Indicators, Circular Design Guidelines, Green NCAP)
  • Define and develop targets and KPIs that support a sustainable LCA within commodity teams that form part of the design and verification process.
  • Lead recyclable material deployment opportunity discussions with stakeholder and commodity teams to facilitate the RDI.
  • Gain support and sponsorship from the wider business in scoping LCA studies that align to ISO 14040 within the commodity teams and respective supply base.
  • Demonstrate and communicate component definition, design and delivery projects that demonstrate the ISO framework.
  • Support the attribute definition and roadmap strategy for the short and long term within Aston Martin.
  • Establish a stakeholder network to develop, document and report attribute status against targets and programme gateways, highlighting consequences of package and material options across vehicle attributes group.
  • Identify, evaluate and drive solutions through the Sustainability Program Attribute Team (PAT).
  • Collaborate with the Advance Product Creation team to scope and define appropriate research initiatives to future the Sustainability attribute.
  • Collaborate with the Performance, Efficiency and Driveability team to scope initiatives that support WLTP and Eco‑Innovation Credits.
  • Provide support to the Legal and Certification team throughout the certification process.
  • Review commodity team foundation DFMEA’s and DVP’s to ensure sustainability attribute requirements are tracked, measured and reported.
  • Identify and develop potential sustainable opportunities for current and future programmes recommending approach to system and component owners.
  • Ensure sustainability attribute issues are tracked and robustly contained and counter‑measured using agreed issue tracking and reporting tools.
  • Publish Engineering Reports to support the above.
  • Publish standards, test procedures and processes to future the sustainability attribute.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience working in Sustainability management within an Automotive OEM or Automotive components supplier.
  • Lifecycle Assessment and metrics used to measure performance.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Proven ability in attribute delivery through product delivery framework process.
  • Experience of high volume or niche vehicle programmes.
  • Experience with noise factor management and problem‑solving methodologies.Proficient with common Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter and NX desirable.
  • Experience in cross‑functional teams, preferably in a Vehicle Integration role.
  • Experience of vehicle package or concept desirable, as well as working in a Vehicle Attribute department.
  • Experience in materials development or materials selection an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas quickly and include system or component expertise in decision‑making.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions against conflicting requirements to deliver a balanced recommendation for the vehicle programme.
  • Essential education/qualifications: Engineering degree or equivalent with a materials or vehicle attribute bias desirable.
  • Preferred education/qualifications: Chartered engineer.

Job Summary

Definition, management and verification of Sustainability and related attributes (Recyclability, Embedded carbon, CO₂e) at vehicle, system and component level for all Aston Martin vehicle derivatives.
