Bank Security Liaison Officer

Location: BirminghamZero Hour ContractSalary: £12.71 per hour

We are St Andrew’s, a mental health charity. The role is vital in maintaining a safe and secure environment while supporting patients, staff, and visitors at the Birmingham site, which is a 125‑bedded adult mental healthcare facility covering medium and low security for men and women.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence across the site.
• Monitor and respond to incidents, ensuring safety procedures are followed.
• Support staff in managing challenging situations, using de‑escalation where appropriate.
• Communicate clearly with patients, staff and visitors.
• Conduct regular patrols and security checks.
• Escort visitors and contractors around the site.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and security policies.

Requirements

• Previous experience in security, healthcare or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Good understanding of safety, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Respectful, patient, non‑judgemental and empathic approach when working in a mental health environment.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
