Job Description:

Responsibilities

You will take ownership of a diverse and challenging portfolio, leading on complex development management consultations and delivering high‑quality ecological assessments such as PEAR, HRA and EcIA. You will manage habitat and species management, habitat creation, and design and delivery of protected species surveys, applying both established and innovative approaches to achieve evidence‑based outcomes. You will lead and coordinate specialist multidisciplinary teams, manage large‑scale projects from concept through to completion, analyse, interpret and present complex ecological data using tools including GIS to inform robust decision‑making and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. You will bring strong commercial awareness, playing a key role in business development, bid‑winning and managing high‑value client relationships, while ensuring projects are delivered to budget, specification and performance expectations. You will communicate effectively, influence, negotiate and build trusted partnerships, and contribute to a high‑performing and supportive team culture, mentoring colleagues and promoting wellbeing, health and safety and continuous professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Substantial post‑qualification experience in ecological consultancy, particularly in planning and development management.
  • Full Membership of CIEEM.
  • Deep understanding of relevant legislation, policy, standards and guidance.
  • Strong commercial awareness, business development and bid‑winning skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and mentoring capabilities.
