Overview

A full‑time, permanent Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer / Improver is required to join a specialist firm based in Bradford (BD8). The role involves the installation, repair, and maintenance of various refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Candidates should possess proven technical skills and experience within this sector. The position offers a competitive salary up to £46,000 per annum, dependent on experience, with a standard 40‑hour working week. Overtime is compensated for travel and additional work. This role supports the company’s ongoing growth and investment in its future development.

Responsibilities

  • Run installations ranging from single split systems to large multi‑room VRF systems.
  • Carry out installations, servicing, and breakdown repairs across a wide range of air conditioning systems.
  • Work on the installation and repair of cold room walls and doors when required.
  • Utilise an internet‑based system for reporting work activities and maintain paper checklists for maintenance and installation records.

  • Commercial Refrigeration Systems
    • Large F‑GAS systems for food storage and food processing
    • Process water chillers for production and storage cooling
    • Cold storage equipment – walk‑in fridges and freezers, display cabinets, Williams upright fridges and freezers, industrial 2500‑pallet cold storage
  • Air Conditioning Systems
    • Single split systems
    • VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems
    • Ventilation systems

Qualifications

  • Basic refrigeration knowledge.
  • F‑Gas qualification is essential; training will be provided for the right applicant.
  • Experience within the refrigeration and air conditioning sector.
