Overview
Position: Temporary Contract (probable renewal). Start date: 1 September 2026. Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, with additional paid time each week to manage duties and responsibilities.
The role involves taking responsibility for a small group of 2‑year‑old children, contributing to their journals, and working together to create beautiful, reflective and provocative indoor and outdoor environments.
Responsibilities
- Managing a small group of 2‑year‑old children
- Contributing to children’s journals
- Creating reflective and provocative learning environments, both indoors and outdoors
Qualifications
- Experience working with children aged 2‑4 years
- Hold a qualification that meets the approved ‘full and relevant’ criteria for Early Years qualifications and staffing ratios
- Ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English
- This position is not open to job share
Pay and Benefits
- Term time only plus two weeks’ pay (plus two additional weeks inclusive of CPD)
- Calculation:
- Number of teaching weeks – 38 weeks
- Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days)
- Two additional weeks inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks
- Individual leave entitlement:
- 5.4 weeks (27 days) for less than 5 years’ service
- 6.4 weeks (32 days) for more than 5 years’ service
- Example pay:
- Under 5 years’ service: 40 weeks (term time + 2) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 47 weeks’ pay, paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
- Over 5 years’ service: 40 weeks + 32 days + 8 days = 48 weeks’ pay, paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
