What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver cyber security consultancy projects for clients across a variety of sectors.
- Lead security maturity assessments, gap analyses and cyber risk reviews.
- Advise clients on governance, risk, compliance and security best practice.
- Develop security strategies, roadmaps and practical improvement plans.
- Support organisations with compliance against recognised frameworks including ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, NIST CSF, CIS Controls and GDPR.
- Review and develop security policies, standards and governance documentation.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings and executive-level presentations.
- Assess infrastructure, cloud environments and business processes from a security perspective.
- Provide guidance on secure architecture, vulnerability management and cyber resilience.
- Review third‑party supplier security risks and recommend improvements.
- Support pre‑sales activities, proposals and client presentations.
- Build lasting client relationships and identify opportunities to deliver additional value.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the development of consulting services and best practices.
Main Skills Needed
- Proven experience in cyber security consulting, governance, risk or advisory roles.
- Strong understanding of information security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS Controls and Cyber Essentials.
- Experience delivering client‑facing security consultancy projects from discovery through to delivery.
- Knowledge of risk assessments, security maturity reviews and compliance programmes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong report writing, presentation and stakeholder management experience.
- Well‑organised with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Experience within a consultancy, managed services or professional services environment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of cloud security, Microsoft security technologies, security architecture or incident response would be beneficial.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, Microsoft Security certifications, CREST or GIAC are desirable.
