Overview
Location: Kingston, Surrey. Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 08:00–15:30. Role: Learning Support Assistant. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and pupils to provide tailored support that enhances learning outcomes and fosters a positive, safe classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with lesson preparation, delivery, and differentiation for pupils with additional learning needs.
- Provide one-to-one or small-group support, reinforcing concepts and encouraging independence.
- Monitor student progress, record observations, and communicate insights to teachers and parents.
- Implement agreed-upon behaviour and safeguarding strategies, promoting a respectful learning atmosphere.
- Prepare learning resources, adapt materials, and utilise assistive technologies as required.
- Contribute to the development and review of individual education plans (IEPs).
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics; Level 2/3 qualification in Learning Support or a related field preferred.
- Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs in a school setting.
- Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.
