What you will do
- Undertake Child and Family Assessments for children with disabilities under the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
- Manage a diverse caseload of children in need, ensuring timely intervention and review of cases involving child protection and looked after children.
- Develop and implement comprehensive Care Plans, Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and short break provision where appropriate, tailoring support to individual needs.
- Lead and participate in multi-agency meetings, including Child Protection Conferences, CIN reviews, and core groups, driving positive outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with schools, health professionals, therapists, and SEND services to ensure seamless and integrated support for the children and their families.
Person Specification
- Qualifications: Qualified with a Degree in Social Work (BA or MA Social Work or equivalent).
- Registration and Compliance: Must be registered with Social Work England, with a sound knowledge of the Children Act 1989 & 2004, Care Act 2014, and SEND Code of Practice.
- Experience: Solid post-qualifying experience within a statutory children’s social care setting, particularly within a Children with Disabilities or SEND-focused team. Demonstrated ability to manage complex caseloads and multi-agency collaboration, with experience contributing to child protection processes and looked after children’s services.
