Graduate Teaching Assistant – Numeracy Support at an outstanding secondary school in Watford, beginning September 2026.
Location: Watford. Contract: Full‑time, Term‑time only. Start Date: September 2026.
Role
As a SEN / Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support in Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Your role involves delivering targeted numeracy interventions, supporting GCSE preparation, and collaborating with Mathematics teachers to adapt resources.
Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted numeracy interventions and Maths support sessions.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for students with SEN and SEND.
- Support students preparing for GCSE Mathematics examinations.
- Reinforce key mathematical concepts, problem‑solving skills, and numerical reasoning.
- Work alongside Mathematics teachers to adapt resources and learning activities.
- Support students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Monitor progress and contribute to intervention strategies.
- Encourage student confidence, resilience, and independence in learning.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidates with degrees in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Psychology, or Education are particularly encouraged. Graduates from any discipline with strong numeracy skills will also be considered, especially those with experience in SEN support, numeracy intervention, Maths intervention, GCSE Maths support, SEND education, and secondary school learning support.
