Primary Job Purpose
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our busy kitchen for a Chef de Partie. We are looking for an experienced chef to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to work and be committed to promoting a positive work environment, working collaboratively with the kitchen brigade and front‑of‑house team to ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Carry out duties as set by the Head Chef or Management.
- Act as an integral part of the kitchen team.
- Contribute to the efficient, smooth running of the kitchen.
- Prepare, cook and present meals for service to the standards set by the Head Chef and management.
- Work and cooperate with Senior Chefs to ensure all foods served meet laid‑down standards.
- Monitor the accuracy of standards for all food deliveries.
- Maintain statutory health and hygiene compliance and keep the premises safe and healthy.
- Ensure safe storage, control, marking and signposting of potentially harmful materials and chemicals.
- Manage departmental risk, completing necessary risk assessments and audit‑required checks and cleanings in the absence of the Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of all kitchen equipment.
- Adhere to applicable hotel rules, regulations, legislation and procedures, including health and safety, COSHH and data protection.
- Maintain confidentiality of information obtained in the course of duties.
- Pursue continued self‑development through appropriate training.
- Assist other chefs and support team members as needed.
- Monitor portion control and waste to maintain profit margins.

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent catering qualification.
- Up to date Allergen Training.
- Understanding of food safety practices.
- Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
- Demonstrable culinary experience in a similar role.
Desired Criteria
- Willingness to undertake further training.
- Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
- English GCSE grade 4/C or above.
- Math GCSE grade 4/C or above.
- Knowledge of the hotel industry.
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen routines.
