About this job

We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join our existing team of professionals.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • an ability to work with a range of young people with SEND, including physical impairment
  • patience, sensitivity and an understanding of child development and learning
  • a strong team working ethos
  • good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills
  • an ability to work in a SEN role to support learning in the classroom and ensure individuals make progress
  • effective communication with young people and teachers 20 hours per week Flexible days of the week (to be agreed at interview) 39 weeks per year (term time only) Core hours are8.30am – 3.00pm per day Fixed term contract ending 31st August 2027 NJC Grade D SCP 4 – 6 FTE £25,185 – £25,989 £13.05 – £13.47 per hour (depending on experience) £11,644 – £12,016 Pro-rata salary for 20 hours per week At St Laurence School we regard our staff as our most important resource.
