Design Engineer – Market‑Leading Manufacturing Company

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a minimum of 3 years mechanical design experience, along with being involved in designing sheet metal and fabricated products with complex assembly.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manufacture products from concept to production‑ready solutions.
- Ensure all product designs comply with the latest regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with sales, purchasing, subcontractors, and production teams to create feasible, cost‑effective designs.
- Manage design projects, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
- Provide technical support for sales with customer quote drawings and bespoke solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement in design methods and production procedures.
- Adopt a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving during the design and manufacturing process.
- Maintain technical documentation, including CAD drawings and compliance records.
- Visit local production sites to assist with design clarifications and problem‑solving.
Person Profile
- Relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field).
- Minimum of 4 years experience, ideally with sheet metal and with products involving complex assembly.
- Proficient in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor or similar).
- Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance processes, and industry standards.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non‑technical audiences.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.
- Creative, innovative, and solutions‑oriented with attention to detail.
