Apprentice Health Care Support Worker

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust are recruiting Apprentice Health Care Support Workers for full‑time roles while completing their apprenticeship. We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join us clinically.
This apprenticeship provides a springboard into a career in nursing, developing core health and caring skills, including completion of the Care Certificate. Candidates may join a Level 2 or Level 3 apprenticeship, depending on current or predicted results and the requirements outlined below.
You must be aged 18+ in September 2026 to be eligible to work the required shifts, which include full rotation/24‑hour periods.
In line with UKVI regulations, this vacancy does not meet the eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Visa route; thus we cannot issue a Certificate of Sponsorship.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain a flexible approach to working and adapt to changing needs.
- Show motivation, honesty and reliability.
- Support patients and staff by providing high‑quality care and assistance.
- Complete the apprenticeship and gain a recognised qualification as a Health Care Support Worker.
- Progress to further apprenticeship or study opportunities upon completion (e.g., Student Nursing Associate or Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship).
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
- Minimum level 1 Numeracy and Literacy.
- IT certificate/qualification.
Knowledge, Training and Experience
- Experience working as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Calm, caring and compassionate nature.
- Desire to complete a Health Care Apprenticeship.
