SEN Teaching Assistants

We have vacancies within oursupport team for SEN Teaching Assistants, the position is to support children withspecialist additional needs, although there may be occasions when the TA wouldsupport guided group work as a general TA.

We are looking to appoint exceptionalcandidates at Totnes St John C of E Primary School who:

• Will be enthusiastic, flexible and highlymotivated working alongside the class teacher to support children 1:1 acrossall areas of the curriculum
• The post holders will be responsible forensuring a child has full access to the national curriculum and has to operatein a number of ways to ensure the child progresses.
• Will be required to work under the directionof the class teacher and liaise with other professionals both within andoutside the school
• Responsible for working with an individual pupiland with small groups
• Will be expected to show a high degree ofinitiative and be able to react to given solutions with integrity and compassion
• Have experience of working with children.Ideally, within a school environment
• Can inspire and motivate children and enablethem to be the best that they can be
• Has the ability to encourage every child tolearn and achieve and has enthusiasm, skill and desire to make a difference
• Has a passion to ensure high expectations forall ensuring that they make outstanding progress
• Can plan, prepare and promote constructive playduring the lunchtime period
