We’re supporting a UK‑based engineering and technology organisation specialising in the design and delivery of complex control, automation, and industrial systems.
The business operates across a range of regulated industrial sectors, delivering integrated technology solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and operational performance in critical environments.
This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high‑quality technical and commercial proposals for complex industrial automation projects. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop tailored solutions, contribute to competitive bids, and support the full tender lifecycle.
Act as a technical solutions developer and bid delivery specialist rather than hands‑on programming or project execution.

- Produce high‑quality, compliant tender submissions (technical & commercial).
- Create conceptual designs for control systems, PLC/SCADA, industrial networks and system architectures.
- Develop accurate commercial estimates including BoMs, supplier quotations and engineering hours.
- Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and sales teams.
- Support pre- and post‑tender discussions with internal stakeholders.
- Participate in tender reviews and risk assessments.
- Manage multiple bids simultaneously and track progress.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal processes.
- Take ownership of the full proposal lifecycle, from interpreting customer requirements through to tender submission and post‑bid support.
Experience & Knowledge Required
- Background in electrical, control, automation or safety systems engineering.
- Experience with PLC, SCADA or DCS systems, control panels, servers, networks and system architecture.
- Familiarity with functional safety (SIL, SIS, ESD, F&G).
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and identify scope, risk and compliance requirements.
- Experience developing estimates, BoMs and engineering hours for industrial automation projects.
- Exposure to Siemens or Rockwell platforms and industrial cyber security principles is advantageous.
- Degree/HND (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
Benefits
- Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days remote).
- Flexible working hours, early finish Fridays.
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays (with buy/sell scheme).
