Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lease Officer to join our team in Derby. Aether manages assets on behalf of third-party owners, enabling the efficient lease and return of civil aircraft engines to airlines around the world. You will be part of a new dynamic team, whose primary objectives are to deliver services within agreed timeframes, improve the turn‑around‑time between leases, maintain the asset value of engines under management and minimise risk for all asset owners. The size and structure of the organisation means that you will work alongside and communicate with senior management daily. The core team is largely based in Derby with supporting functions based in London.
What You Will Be Doing
- Accountable for acquisition and transfer of engines from multiple organisations, both internal and external to the business.
- Accountable for technical acceptance and technical recommendation to customers utilising acquisition management services.
- Accountable for delivery of and retrieval of technical records to support lease delivery/redelivery.
- Accountable for the physical condition of the asset being delivered/redelivered from lease customers.
- Accountable for continued serviceability and availability of engines, including acquisition due diligence, operator compliance of redelivery requirements at lease returns.
- Responsible for identifying operational issues and facilitating the resolution of the same whilst maintaining appropriate levels of customer satisfaction.
Position Qualifications
- Degree in Aircraft Maintenance Management, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, or similar relevant qualification or experience in a comparable role.
- Experience in the Customer Services, Technical Project Management or Powerplant department of an Aircraft Leasing or Engine Leasing company, Airline or MRO or technical advisory firm.
- Willingness to travel as required, sometimes on short notice.
Preferred Requirements
- Good business acumen.
- Good project management experience ideally supported with a formal qualification.
- Ability to prioritise workloads to meet demanding deadlines.
- Experience managing customer or external vendor relationships, ideally with airline operators or MRO providers.
- Working technical knowledge of one or more Rolls‑Royce Trent engines.
- Good interpersonal, diplomacy, communication, influencing and negotiations skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems while maintaining customer focus.
- Understanding of engine shop visit processes and airline engineering operations.
- Computer literacy, knowledge of asset management software systems such as CMS, STREAM, EFPAC, Flydocs, Leasepoint, Salesforce, and the OEM engine portals an advantage.
