Overview

Case Administrators support probation teams in keeping the public safe and helping offenders turn their lives around. This role is vital to the delivery of community and court-based services.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all processes run efficiently and systems are maintained properly
  • Collate and prepare probation information for case files
  • Handle enquiries from colleagues, agencies and people on probation in a busy environment using strong communication skills
  • Support probation staff across a variety of settings, including PDUs, courts and prisons

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Empathetic, patient and organised with strong communication skills
  • Experience in an administrative or customer service role
  • Knowledge of or experience with probation, court or community services is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Salary & Pay Progression

Your starting salary will be £24,645 per year. The Probation Service offers annual pay progression through a Competency Based Framework (CBF) that enables movement up the pay band as competence grows.

Working Arrangements & Hours

Mon‑Fri 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, 37 hours per week. Hybrid working arrangements are available where business need allows. Role is based within the West Midlands region in various locations such as Bolton, Cannock, Newcastle‑under‑Lyme, etc. A locational reserve list will be maintained for up to 12 months.
