Responsibilities


Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, 2+ etc). Rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning. Carry out the routine inspection and adjustment of escalator installations in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstate lift and complete service documentation. Carry out fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service.



  • Checks to include speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power supply using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment.


Qualifications


Competence is required to make effective use of written or graphical information. Experience in lift servicing, maintenance or repairs preferred. Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift maintenance or equivalent.



  • Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi‑brand equipment.

  • Advanced problem‑solving skills.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and within efficiencies.

  • Ability to work independently with a flexible approach.

  • Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Service Leader/Inspectors).

  • Manual dexterity – requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.

  • Proven fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
