Job Summary
The Project Manager role at Health Innovation West Midlands (HIWM) is central to driving healthcare transformation through innovation and improvement. Working within a collaborative matrix structure, you will manage and support projects across the innovation pipeline—national, regional or local— helping to implement new ideas and evaluate their impact. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse initiatives that improve patient outcomes and reduce variation in care. You will use proven methodologies and tools to deliver projects efficiently, while engaging with stakeholders across health, social care and industry. Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and deliver projects to agreed timelines and standards, supporting innovation adoption and improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate multi‑stakeholder meetings, monitor progress and adjust delivery plans where needed.
- Contribute to evaluations, data analysis and reporting, ensuring compliance with governance and quality standards.
- Build relationships across diverse sectors and maintain stakeholder engagement.

- Relevant degree or equivalent, post‑graduate level basic qualifications.
- Post‑graduate project management qualification or proven equivalent practical experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.

- Recognised qualification in patient safety, quality improvement, change management, benefits realisation, business advice.
Experience
Essential
- Mandatory experience of projects from set‑up through planning, process mapping, data analysis and implementation within a healthcare setting.
- Experience of implementing innovation and improvement interventions into health and care settings.
- Experience organising and managing meetings involving different sectors, agencies and professions.
- Experience of patient/user involvement initiatives.
- Experience of presenting reports, managing feedback and questions at senior management level.
- Experience using evidence‑based quality improvement approaches.
- Understanding of patient safety challenges and safety approaches.
- Experience of adoption and spread within and across organisations.
Desirable
- Experience of working with industry and/or higher education institutions.
- Evidence of working collaboratively and influencing professionals from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Experience working in or with commissioning bodies, integrated care boards (ICBs), social care, industry and/or public health.
- Knowledge and delivery experience in business support, business management/costing, income generation.

Salary & Benefits
Band 6 – Salary £39,959.00 to £48,117.00 yearly (Agenda for Change). Fixed‑term contract for 1 year. Full‑time, flexible working.
