About the role
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a leader to join as Managing Director of the North West London (NWL) Trusts Local Finance Shared Services Centre (LFSSC). The LFSSC is a new collaboration among several trusts in the West and North London Integrated Care System, with an annual budget of around £6 million and a staff of 60 full‑time equivalents. It will provide transactional finance services (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Finance Systems, Treasury and elements of Financial Accounting) to seven trusts, supporting roughly 2,200 budget holders and handling approximately 650,000 invoices and credit notes a year.
Main responsibilities
- Oversee operational management of the LFSSC, ensuring effective implementation of national and local strategies and achievement of service objectives.
- Lead across the NWL Trusts to provide operational and strategic leadership, acting as a key member of the NWL Trusts finance senior leadership team.
- Deliver a high‑quality, value‑adding finance function and provide comprehensive, consistent finance transactional service across NWL.
- Identify and support opportunities for efficiency and improvement, including standardisation, centralisation and optimisation of services.
- Create and maintain robust systems, mitigate outages, build resilience and minimise capital investment.
- Consolidate and harmonise outsourced finance contracts and work with North West London Procurement Services to optimise associated services.
- Ensure an excellent level of customer service and maintain strong partnerships across partner trusts, the Integrated Care Board, finance and procurement suppliers and wider system partners.
