Project Monitoring Engineer

Location: London

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum + Package

Are you an experienced Monitoring Engineer looking to take the next step in your career on major civil engineering and infrastructure projects? Do you enjoy combining technical expertise with client interaction, project coordination and data analysis? If you’re looking for a varied role where you’ll play a key part in delivering geotechnical monitoring solutions while working with major contractors and clients, this could be the opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission and maintain geotechnical monitoring instrumentation.
  • Carry out monitoring surveys and oversee the collection, collation and interpretation of monitoring data in various software.
  • Manage, record and maintain accurate monitoring records and project documentation.
  • Prepare and present monitoring data and technical updates to clients during project meetings.
  • Support the management and coordination of subcontractors and site operatives.
  • Prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Activity Briefings and Installation Commissioning Reports.
  • Liaise with clients, site teams and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop an understanding of project costs, commercial awareness and risk management to support successful project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a geotechnical monitoring, instrumentation or monitoring engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and industry best practice.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical reports.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Experience interpreting and presenting monitoring data.
  • Good fault‑finding, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • CSCS Card.

Desirable

  • Degree or degree equivalent in Civil Engineering, Geology or a related discipline.
  • Experience using geotechnical monitoring software.
