Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with Italian statutory, fiscal, and tax requirements, coordinating with external advisors and authorities where necessary.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with local regulations and group requirements.
- Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures, supporting both internal and external audit activities and resolving audit queries and account reconciliations.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, including expense review, policy compliance, and payment approval workflows.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, including Profit & Loss (P&L), Cash Flow (CF), and balance sheet forecasting.
- Perform financial performance analysis, variance analysis, and provide actionable insights to support business decision-making.
- Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and coordinate periodic inventory counts and stock-taking activities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support business growth, process improvements, and company-wide strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with IT and other stakeholders to optimize financial systems, reporting tools, and process automation.
- Participate in finance transformation and continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
- Undertake ad hoc financial analysis and support management on special projects as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; professional accounting qualification would be advantageous.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, preferably within an international or multinational environment in Italy.
- Strong knowledge of the Italian fiscal and tax framework, statutory reporting requirements, and local accounting practices.
- Solid understanding of Italian GAAP and IFRS; exposure to China GAAP would be considered an advantage.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit management, and financial controls.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multicultural teams.
- Fluent English is essential, proficiency in Italian and/or Mandarin would be highly desirable.
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and highly accountable, with a continuous improvement mindset and strong learning agility.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is a plus.
