Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and highly organised CLinical Lead to support the effective day‑to‑day management of our care home. This key role involves working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the delivery of safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care that meets regulatory standards. The Clinical Lead will lead and support care staff, promote best practice, ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, and help maintain a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff. Strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to dignity, respect, and continuous improvement are essential for success in this role.

Duties

  • Support the Registered Manager in the overall management and operation of the care home
  • Supervise, mentor, and support care staff to ensure high standards of care and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Ensure person‑centred care plans are developed, reviewed, and implemented effectively
  • Monitor safeguarding practices and respond appropriately to concerns or incidents
  • Promote a safe environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Manage and respond to incidents, complaints, and emergencies in a calm and professional manner
  • Conduct staff supervisions, spot checks, and assist with training and development
  • Support medication management in line with company policy and regulatory guidance
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with CQC requirements
  • Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure continuity of care
  • Assist with audits, quality assurance, and service improvement initiatives
  • Act as Manager in their absence when required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered with the NMC
  • Proven experience in a senior nurse role (or similar)
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills within a care home or healthcare setting
  • Sound knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, and health & safety regulations
  • Experience in care planning, risk assessments, and incident reporting
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Calm, confident, and professional approach to managing challenging situations
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and on‑call duties as required
