Microsoft Specialist

We are seeking an experienced practitioner to provide operational and technical management of Microsoft licences within a Microsoft 365 / Entra ID tenant. The role ensures accurate licence assignment, control, reconciliation, and integration with user provisioning and organisational onboarding processes.

This position is focused on execution and service enablement rather than commercial licensing decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign, manage, and reconcile Microsoft licences across the tenant to ensure accuracy and compliance with operational controls
• Support user and organisation onboarding by ensuring correct licence provisioning and entitlement alignment
• Monitor licence consumption and coordinate operational top-ups to maintain service continuity
• Work closely with identity, provisioning, and platform teams to coordinate licensing‑related activity and dependencies
• Act as the technical point of contact with Microsoft for licence‑related incidents, issues, and escalations

What This Role Does Not Cover

• Commercial negotiations, SKU selection, purchasing, renewals, or cost optimisation
• Licensing strategy or advisory services to organisations (owned by a separate central function)
• Microsoft 365 and Entra ID tenant administration
• Hands‑on operational licence management, assignment controls, and reconciliation processes
• Solid understanding of the Microsoft 365 licensing ecosystem (tenants, licence types, service dependencies, and how licensing enables platform services)
• Strong attention to detail, with a service assurance and operational risk mindset
