Purpose of the Role
Develop, test, and validate software functionality, performance, and user experience by designing testing strategies, executing automated tests, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve defects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Create and execute automated test scripts using testing frameworks and tools for early defect detection.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to analyze requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to acceptance criteria.
- Perform root cause analysis for identified defects and work with developers to provide detailed information supporting defect resolution.
- Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with industry technology trends and innovations, contributing to technology communities.
- Help influence decision‑making, contribute to policy development, and support operational effectiveness.
- Lead teams or collaborative assignments, coach team members, set objectives, conduct performance appraisals, and drive outcomes that impact the business function.
Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience with non‑functional testing for mobile applications.
- Strong knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner.
- Extensive knowledge of Java to interpret application behavior and determine test scope.
- Ability to design and execute load, stress, and endurance tests for mobile apps.
- Experience in behavior testing (e.g., Cucumber).
- Leadership skills to manage testers, plan sprints, flag risks, and communicate complex information.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret results and provide actionable insights.
Location
This role can be performed from Northampton or Knutsford.
