Job Description:

We’re looking for an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead and evolve our technology services—ensuring they are secure, reliable, and truly enable our people to do their best work.

The successful candidate will have sufficient technical knowledge to provide direction, challenge suppliers and make informed recommendations, but will not normally be expected to undertake hands‑on technical change activity as their primary day‑to‑day responsibility—perfect for someone who understands technology deeply, but thrives in strategy, coordination, and service excellence.

About the Role

As our IT Operations Manager, you’ll take ownership of Service Desk, Infrastructure, and IT Training, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day service while driving continuous improvement and modernisation.

You’ll work across internal teams and trusted partners to deliver:

  • Stable and secure IT services
  • Clear and effective incident, change, and problem management
  • Confident technology adoption across the business

What You’ll Deliver

  • Reliable, secure IT services that enable productivity
  • Strong operational support for ISO 27001, security, and resilience
  • Ongoing modernisation of our tech estate (Microsoft 365, cloud, AI tools)
  • A structured IT training approach to boost user confidence and reduce support demand

What You Bring

  • Proven experience leading IT operations in a professional services or regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of ITIL practices (certification desirable)
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, and modern cloud environments
  • Experience with information security frameworks (ISO 27001 or similar)
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes
  • A track record of supplier management, service reporting, and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Cyber security tooling, vulnerabilities & incident response
  • Endpoint management (e.g. Intune)
  • Networks, firewalls, and remote access
  • AD / Entra ID and system administration
  • Practical, solution‑oriented, and always looking to improve
  • A calm, confident leader who can balance risk, cost, and user needs
  • Approachable and service‑focused—you understand your users
  • Able to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Passionate about enabling people through technology
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
