Due to continued success and to support our growth journey ahead we are recruiting a Supply Chain and Inventory Coordinator to join our Production Department.
Role Overview
The Supply Chain & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for the end-to-end accuracy and flow of materials through the brewery — from production scheduling support and purchasing, through to goods-in quality sign-off, inventory management and stock reporting. This is an operational role that requires strong attention to detail, good cross‑functional communication and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Production planning support
- Maintain and update the short‑term production schedule in close collaboration with the Production Manager.
- Flag raw material supply risks, lead‑time issues or stock discrepancies to the Production Manager in advance, and propose practical solutions to avoid production stoppages.
- Coordinate the flow of information between Sales, Production, Warehouse and contract brewing partners.
- Flag potential or actual finished product shortages versus expected forecast or actual orders; support the Production Manager with investigating root causes.
- Keep the production schedule up to date in the brewery management system.
- 2. Raw material & packaging procurement
- Raise and manage purchase orders for raw materials and packaging materials in line with the production plan and the company PO approval process.
- Monitor open purchase orders and chase outstanding or late deliveries.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels without over‑ordering, using FIFO principles and agreed par levels to guide purchasing decisions.
- Ensure goods are receipted accurately against purchase orders and manage defect and return processes with suppliers.
- 3. Inbound goods quality & receipting
- Carry out or coordinate goods‑in checks for all incoming raw materials and packaging.
- Identify and escalate non‑conformances to the Production Manager and Compliance Manager; manage the supplier follow‑up process through to resolution.
- Maintain clear records of goods‑in inspection outcomes to support traceability, HACCP requirements and supplier performance monitoring.
- 4. Inventory accuracy & system management
- Maintain accurate stock records for all raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods and agented beers.
- Own the weekly and monthly stock take process end‑to‑end: prepare count sheets, coordinate counts, investigate variances and prepare reconciliation reports.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and work with Production, Warehouse and Finance to resolve issues.
- Track stock movements to ensure correct allocation between raw materials, WIP and finished goods categories.
- 5. Stock reporting
- Produce regular reports on stock position, usage trends and ageing for raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
- Track and report volumes, stock value and movements of agented beers; reconcile agented beer purchases and sales records.
- Support month‑end stock valuation with Finance.
- 6. Contract brewing
- Act as the primary point of contact for contract brewing partners regarding production schedules, stock availability and forecast requirements.
- Maintain accurate stock and forecast information for all contract brewed products; review inventory positions, production plans and demand forecasts with contract partners.
- Maintain accurate records of contract partner communications, production plans and stock reconciliations.
What success looks like
- The production schedule is always current, accurate and shared.
- Stock levels are kept within agreed levels and stock availability KPI is high.
- Purchase orders are raised promptly, deliveries chased proactively and there are no production stoppages caused by material shortfalls.
- All incoming goods are checked, non‑conformances escalated and resolved quickly.
- Inventory records are accurate and trusted by Production, Warehouse and Finance; variances investigated and closed out monthly.
- Stock reports are produced on time, are easy to act on.
Experience & Skills
- Experience in a supply chain, purchasing, inventory or production coordination role, ideally in food, beverage or FMCG manufacturing.
- Confident user of inventory or ERP systems; experience with brewery management software (e.g. Brewman) is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to record‑keeping and reconciliation.
- Good communicator who can work effectively across Production, Warehouse and Finance teams.
- Proactive and organised — able to manage multiple tasks, prioritise well and flag issues early.
- Understanding of basic quality and food safety principles (HACCP, traceability, goods‑in inspection) is desirable.
