Consultants in Palliative Medicine
Location: Strathcarron Hospice, Central Scotland (near Glasgow and Edinburgh, Trossachs National Park)
Schedule: 6–8 sessions per week, with an additional 2 paid sessions per week for 1 in 5 on‑call commitment.
Salary: £111,430 – £148,064 per annum, pro‑rata (including 8% availability supplement, pro‑rata for part time).
Role Overview
We are seeking two Consultants in Palliative Medicine to lead and develop our community, in‑patient and hospital specialist palliative care services. The post holder will work across the hospice inpatient unit, community teams and the hospital palliative care team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high quality clinical palliative care to patients and families.
- Lead and contribute to the hospice strategy, service development, training, quality improvement and research programmes.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications and Conditions
- Qualified Consultant in Palliative Medicine (or anticipated to gain CCT within the next 6 months).
- Subject to a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check by Disclosure Scotland.
- Experience in community or hospital palliative care preferred.
