Job Description Summary
The Material Health Leader helps turn production plans into work that can actually be delivered. This person ensures materials, capacity, and priorities are aligned across the full bill of materials, including spares and upgrades, so the team can meet customer needs and keep production moving. Working closely with the Value Stream Leader and partner teams, this role builds practical production and inventory plans, tackles constraints before they become bigger problems, and keeps a close focus on aging work in process and material review board items. The Material Health Leader also improves how materials are managed and presented on the shop floor, supports engineering changes, and helps the team strengthen daily ways of working. Success in this role means staying close to the operation, solving problems early, building strong cross‑functional relationships, and helping the team deliver on time while improving inventory, productivity, and quality.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Turn the master production schedule and material requirements plan into a realistic production plan across the full bill of materials, including spares and upgrades.
- Understand shop capacity and key constraints, and help the team address issues early so customer demand can be met.
- Communicate capacity changes back to central planning and support longer‑term planning needs.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to maintain critical planning data such as lead times, yield, attrition, and minimum/maximum inventory levels.
- Partner with the Value Stream Leader and broader team to ensure clear ownership and execution of the production plan.
- Build and execute a credible inventory plan that improves inventory turns, with direct accountability for aged work in process and the material review board process.
- Coach and develop the team to take ownership of the plan and improve daily processes and standard work, including work in process management and work order releases.
- Track, communicate, and drive adherence to the production plan.
- Lead improvements in material control processes and systems.
- Improve how materials are presented and delivered to the shop floor using Lean principles.
- Work closely with the Material Health Lead and sourcing team to improve material supply visibility and performance.
- Own the execution of engineering changes on the shop floor.
- Support cross‑functional improvement projects that simplify processes and improve business performance.
- Balance key measures including customer on‑time delivery, inventory, direct labor productivity, and scrap.
- Partner with the Digital Technology team on system and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma/ GED and/or relevant experience in Manufacturing, Materials Planning and Execution.
- Strong understanding of ERP transactions and business impact.
- Strong understanding of Material & Process control.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
- Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Effective problem identification and solution skills.
- Proven analytical and organizational ability.
Desired Characteristics
- APICS CPIM Certification (Opportunity to gain qualification once in role).
- Previous experience in Oracle ERP.

Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. If BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
