Your new company Your new company are a leader in their field and are looking for an FP&A Manager to join their team on a permanent basis due to internal promotion.
Your new role This role provides commercial and analytical finance support across a portfolio of operational locations within the division. The position plays a central role in shaping decision-making by combining financial rigour with operational understanding, partnering closely with on-site teams to improve performance and profitability.The successful candidate will bring a proactive, questioning mindset and a strong focus on outcomes – using financial insight to challenge thinking, inform strategy, and drive continuous improvement.Core accountabilities:
- Own the delivery of period-end performance reviews, forward-looking forecasts, and annual planning cycles, ensuring outputs are accurate, well-explained, and decision-useful.
- Convert financial results into clear commercial commentary, helping operational teams understand what is driving performance and where attention needs to be focused.
- Work hand-in-hand with manufacturing, supply chain, and operations leaders to interrogate cost behaviour, identify inefficiencies, and support margin enhancement initiatives.
- Build and evolve decision-support models to evaluate business scenarios, including volume changes, pricing actions, investment proposals, and operational trade-offs.
- Lead in-depth performance vs. plan analysis, highlighting emerging risks and opportunities, and recommending tangible actions rather than simply reporting variance.
- Design, refine, and embed management information and KPI frameworks that give leadership better visibility over operational drivers such as productivity, unit economics, and inventory health.
- Act as a finance translator across the business – bridging the gap between numbers and operations by presenting insights in a way that resonates with non-finance stakeholders.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Fully qualified ACCA/ CIMA/ ACA
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment required
- Curious, analytical, and confident challenging numbers
- Able to tell the story behind the data
- Comfortable working in a less structured, manual environment
- Strong stakeholder management and variance costing knowledge
- Modelling and strong Excel skill set
- Solid knowledge and understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and how these are driven
- Cost accounting knowledge
