Education Transport Driver

North East Lincolnshire Council – Education Transport Driver (Job Reference: NELC400000687).

Salary: £25,989.00 per annum. Hours: 27.5 hours per week, part‑time, term time only. Contract: Full Time Equivalent.

Job Description

What will your day look like? You will transport children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) from their homes to local schools at the start and end of the school day, ensuring their safety at all times. The vehicle provided is an automatic, long‑wheel wheelchair‑accessible Treka. You will conduct daily vehicle checks, keep the vehicle clean, and secure passengers using a range of restraint systems.

Requirements

Driving: Full clean driving licence with D1 entitlement and at least 3 years of driving experience, preferably driving larger vehicles such as a 16‑seater minibus (automatic transmission advantageous).

Commitment: Dedication to children’s safety, ability to build effective relationships with children, parents, school staff and other stakeholders, and flexibility to adapt in challenging situations.
