Senior Production Engineer (Electronics Bias)

£48,000 – £54,000 + Benefits

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Production Engineer with electronics/test bias to work with bridge Engineering and Production teams, designing test equipment, developing test plans, and driving process improvements. You’ll support operations through in-process sub-assembly testing, LRU/RMA validation, fault‑finding, and technical problem‑solving to enhance build quality and minimise delays.

Key Responsibilities

• Interface between Engineering and Production to define in-process testing requirements
• Design/develop test equipment, jigs, fixtures and procurement support
• Create detailed test plans/procedures ensuring quality and customer requirements
• Provide electrical/test support to resolve production issues and reduce rework
• Implement process improvements, cost reductions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Fault‑find electromechanical equipment and perform root cause analysis
• Support quality investigations, staff training and CR implementation
• Occasional customer travel for technical support

What We’re Looking For – Essential

• 5+ years’ experience in test/engineering environment (degree/HND desirable)
• Strong knowledge of testing electrical/electromechanical equipment
• Excellent ability reading complex technical drawings (wiring diagrams, PCB schematics)
• Proficient computer skills and clear communication (verbal/written)

Desirable

• Staff supervision/mentoring experience
• LabVIEW software knowledge
• PLC programming
• CAD software experience
• Digital camera/video protocols
